The Architects Registration Council (ARC) is the government of Ghana regulatory body for the architectural profession. It was established through the Architects Act 1969, NLCD 357. The ARC is an Agency of the Ministry of Works and Housing (MWH). It is overseen by a board of 10 members, five of whom are nominated by the professional body of architects, i.e. the Ghana Institute of Architects, four institutional members and the Registrar of the Council. We are responsible for the Regulation and Promotion of the Architectural Profession and Protection of the general public against unprofessional conduct of practitioners, towards a sustainable Built Environment.

The ARC is a statutory regulatory body which exists to promote the practice of architecture nationwide for a sustainable built environment, and protection of the populace by ensuring high quality professional standards in education, practice and conduct.

We aspire to be a regulator of world class standard for professionalism in architectural practice in Ghana.
