Notification of 2025 Good Standing Second Draft List of Architects, Firms, and Probationers
Dear Architect,
Greetings from the Architects Registration Council (ARC).
The Final list will be published on the 30th June edition of the Daily Graphic.
The ARC would like to remind all that practicing architecture or operating an architectural business in Ghana without being duly registered with the ARC constitutes a punishable offense under the Architects Act, 1969 (NLCD 357).
Specifically:
• Section 13(2) provides that “The Board may strike off the Register the name of an architect if the prescribed fees remain unpaid for a period exceeding six months.”
• Section 21(5) states that “A person who practices or undertakes to practice in breach of this section commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty (20) penalty units for every day during which the offence continues.”
Consequently, following June 30, 2025, any Architect(s) or Architectural Firm(s) not in Good Standing and found practicing will be subject to penalties and may have their names struck off the Register.
We also urge all architects to do the needful by renewing their Annual Subscription with the GIA.
The final Good Standing List will be shared with the local Government, all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDA) to ensure that only designs stamped by licensed architects in Good Standing are issued permits.
We kindly urge you to review the list for any discrepancies, including omissions or incorrect registration numbers, and to promptly inform the Council of any necessary corrections.
For further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the ARC Head Office at 0302 252 490 or 055 964 4318, or the Ashanti Regional Office at 0244 739 981.
Thank you.
